Privacy Policy

Revval (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use FaceTrace (the “App”), an iOS application that searches publicly available images on the internet for faces that match a photo you provide. Because FaceTrace processes facial images, this policy also explains how we handle biometric data. Please read it carefully.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of information:

• Search photos: The photos you take or select in the App to run a search.
• Facial geometry (biometric data): To run a search, we create a numerical representation of the face in your search photo (a “face template”). This template is used only to find visually similar images.
• Search results: The matching images, similarity scores, and source links returned for your searches.
• Account and purchase information: An anonymous app user identifier and your subscription status. Payments are processed by Apple; we never receive your card details.
• Usage data: How you interact with the App, such as features used, number of searches, and session duration.
• Device information: Device model, operating system version, app version, IP address, and crash diagnostics.
• Correspondence: Information you send us when you contact support or submit a removal request.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Run the face searches you request and show you the results
• Manage your subscription and access to paid features
• Detect, investigate, and prevent misuse of the App, including searches that breach our Terms of Service
• Respond to support requests and removal requests
• Monitor performance, fix bugs, and improve the App
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your search photos or face templates to build a database of identities, to train AI models, or for advertising.

3. Face Data

“Face data” means the photo you upload to run a search and the face template we create from it.

• How we use it: We use the photo you upload to find similar-looking faces in publicly available images on the internet. Your face data is used for no other purpose.
• Not stored or indexed: Neither your photo nor your face data is stored permanently or added to any searchable index or database.
• Deleted within 24 hours: Your photo and face data are held only as long as needed to run your search, and are automatically deleted within 24 hours.
• Not shared: We do not share your face data with third parties. It is processed only by the data processors listed in Section 5, solely to perform your search on our behalf.

4. Biometric Data

Face templates are considered biometric data (or “special category” data) under many privacy laws, including the GDPR, UK GDPR, and US state laws such as the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, Texas, and Washington biometric laws. We handle it as follows:

• Consent: We ask for your explicit consent in the App before processing any face. You can withdraw consent at any time by stopping use of the App and contacting us.
• Purpose: Face templates are used solely to perform the search you requested.
• Retention: Search photos and face templates are not stored or indexed, and are automatically deleted within 24 hours (see Section 3). We do not keep a permanent record of the faces you search.
• No sale: We never sell, lease, trade, or otherwise profit from biometric data.
• Disclosure: We disclose biometric data only to the service providers that perform the search on our behalf (see Section 5), or where required by law.

5. Data Processors

We use trusted third-party service providers to operate FaceTrace. Each receives only the data it needs to perform its function, is bound by contract to protect it, and may not use it for its own purposes. We do not sell your data to any of these parties.

6. People Who Appear in Search Results

FaceTrace returns images that are already publicly available on the internet, together with links to where they were found. We do not host those websites or control their content. If you believe an image of you appears in FaceTrace results and you would like it excluded, go tohttps://facecheck.id/en/RemoveMyPhotoswith the subject “Removal Request”. We may ask for a photo to verify your identity; that photo is used only to process your request and is deleted afterwards. To remove the image from the original website, you will need to contact that website directly.

7. Legal Bases for Processing

If you are in the UK or European Economic Area, we process your personal data on the following bases: your explicit consent (for search photos and face templates); performance of our contract with you (to provide the App and your subscription); our legitimate interests (to secure the App, prevent misuse, and improve our services); and compliance with legal obligations.

8. Data Retention

• Search photos and face data: not stored or indexed; automatically deleted within 24 hours.
• Search results and history: stored on your device. You can delete them in the App at any time.

9. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest and restricted access to production systems. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. International Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal data out of the UK or EEA, we use appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

11. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw your consent at any time
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Data portability (receive your data in a structured format)
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

12. Children's Privacy

FaceTrace is intended only for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a minor has used the App, we will delete their information promptly.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes in the App or by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. If we change how we handle biometric data, we will ask for your consent again before applying the change.
