These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the FaceTrace application (“App”), a product of Revval (“we”, “our”, or “us”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. What FaceTrace Does
FaceTrace is an iOS application that lets you search publicly available images on the internet for faces that look similar to the face in a photo you provide. Results show matching images, a similarity score, and a link to the web page where each image was found. FaceTrace does not identify people by name and does not access private accounts, private messages, or content behind a login.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, and of legal age to form a binding contract where you live, to use FaceTrace. You may not use the App if you are barred from doing so under applicable law.
3. Permitted Use
FaceTrace is designed to help people protect their own image and safety online. You may use it to:
- Search for images of yourself
- Search for images of another person who has given you their explicit consent
- Check whether a photo sent to you (for example, on a dating or social platform) has been copied from elsewhere, to protect yourself from fraud or impersonation
4. Prohibited Use
You agree not to use FaceTrace, or any results from it, to:
- Stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, dox, or monitor any person
- Identify, locate, or follow a stranger, including people photographed in public without their knowledge
- Search for images of anyone under 18
- Make decisions about a person's eligibility for employment, housing, credit, insurance, or any other purpose covered by the US Fair Credit Reporting Act or similar laws. Revval is not a consumer reporting agency and FaceTrace results are not consumer reports
- Discriminate against anyone on the basis of a protected characteristic
- Carry out surveillance on behalf of a government, law enforcement agency, or employer
- Upload photos you do not have the right to use, or that are illegal, sexually explicit, or obtained unlawfully
- Build, compile, or sell a database of faces, images, or identities
- Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the App or its results
- Reverse engineer, copy, or extract the App's software or search technology
- Circumvent any usage limits, access controls, or security measures
- Break any applicable law, including privacy, data protection, and biometric privacy laws
You are solely responsible for the searches you run and for what you do with the results. We monitor for patterns of misuse. We may suspend or terminate your access without notice or refund, and report conduct to the relevant authorities, if we reasonably believe you have breached this section.
5. Your Photos & Consent
By submitting a photo to FaceTrace, you confirm that:
- You have the right to use the photo
- The photo shows you, or a person who has consented to the search, or it falls within the permitted uses in Section 3
- Where the law requires it, you have obtained any consent needed to process that person's biometric data
- You grant Revval a limited, temporary licence to process the photo solely to perform your search

6. Face Data
“Face data” means the photo you upload to run a search and the face template created from it. By using FaceTrace, you acknowledge that:
- We use the photo you upload to find similar matches in publicly available images on the internet
- Neither your photo nor your face data is stored permanently or indexed
- Your photo and face data are automatically deleted within 24 hours
- Your face data is not shared with third parties, and is processed only by the data processors listed in our Privacy Policy, solely to perform your search
7. Search Results & Accuracy
Face matching is probabilistic. Results show images that look similar, not confirmed identities, and they may include false matches or miss images that exist. Accuracy depends on photo quality, lighting, angle, and other factors. You must not rely on a FaceTrace result alone to conclude that an image shows a particular person, or take any action against a person based only on a result.
8. Third-Party Content
Images and links in search results come from third-party websites that we do not own or control. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, legality, or availability of those websites, and a link to a website does not mean we endorse it. If you want an image removed from a website, you must contact that website. People who want to be excluded from FaceTrace results can submit a removal request to https://facecheck.id/en/RemoveMyPhotos.
9. Subscriptions & Payments
Some features of FaceTrace require a paid subscription or in-app purchase. Prices and billing periods are shown in the App before you buy. Payments are processed by Apple and charged to your Apple ID. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under its refund policies.
10. Intellectual Property
All software, designs, trademarks, and content within FaceTrace (excluding third-party images shown in search results) are owned by or licensed to Revval. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for your own non-commercial purposes in line with these Terms.
11. Apple App Store Terms
These Terms are between you and Revval only, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content, and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, or intellectual property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. Your use of the App must also comply with Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
FaceTrace is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the App will be available at all times or error-free, that search results will be accurate or complete, or that the App will find every image of a person. Use of the App is at your own risk.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Revval shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of FaceTrace, including any action you or others take based on search results. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Revval harmless from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the App, or your violation of any law or the rights of any third party, including privacy and biometric privacy rights.
15. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to FaceTrace at any time if you breach these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time and request deletion of your data by contacting hello@revval.ai. Sections 4, 7, 8, and 12 to 17 survive termination.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes in the App or on this page. Your continued use of FaceTrace after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
17. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Revval operates. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections you have where you live.
